About the Interior Decorator and Designer

Barbara Nyke is passionate about design. A gifted artist and consummate professional, she is also an active listener who undertakes every decorating project with a great respect for her client’s wishes. Her enthusiasm is infectious, to the delight of her clients, and makes the design process a joy. She also has the rare trait of following through on every project from concept to completion to celebration.

Before entering the field of interior design, Barbara was involved in fashion, music and photography while operating her own jewellery business. She worked in public relations and internet marketing, but meanwhile developed a passion for redecorating friends’ rooms and experimenting with her own home. This led to her Interior Decorating Certificate and the launch of NIKKA DESIGN.

Unique among Toronto’s designers, Barbara is as eco-conscious as she is talented. Throughout her career she has tirelessly researched the eco-design market and gained access to an impressive array of stylish eco-luxe products that won’t harm the environment or indoor air.

A sought-after eco-designer and speaker, Barbara has made several media appearances. She presents at conferences and enjoys sharing tips for eye-catching, sustainable design.
